The GSX-R600 is one of the most important models in Suzuki's lineup so it's vital an update is done right.  Finished in its iconic blue and white paint scheme you could be forgiven for thinking that it's the 2010 model but a closer look can confirm that it's a completely new animal.

The all new bike has shed a massive 9kg off the previous version and has gained extra power.  The bike feels like it's come straight from the track and thanks to the massive weight loss it feels more torquey - you could be forgiven for thinking that this was its bigger brother.  

Every component on the the 2011 GSX-R600 is new, in particular the front end where you can expect to find a pair of Showa big piston forks (BPF) just like the GSX-R1000 and the old braking system has been discarded to make way for Brembo Monoblock calipers.  This combination makes for excellent handling, more confident braking and smoother cornering resulting in a faster machine.  

The latest edition of Motor Cycle News pitted the GSX-R600 against its main rivals; Yamaha's R6, Kawasaki's ZX-6R, Triumph's 675 Daytona and Honda's CBR600RR.  The new Gixxer 6 beat them all in all areas, here's what was said by MCN;

"You can tell it's light - it's the biggest thing Suzuki has really got right.  I noticed straight away how neutral the steering is - minimal input from your hands and it goes anywhere you want it to go.  It's really neutral, really nice!" Simon Crafter, MCN 2011
