The bike picks up speed faster than you can make sense of the images thrown at you.Totally redefining its "less is more" design concept, the latest CBR1000RR Fireblade has been pared down wherever it counts.  Its 4-piece gravity die-cast (GDC) frame is lighter and narrower, helping to centralise weight for smoother, quicker response to every rider input.  Its new gull wing shape hybrid aluminium swingarm is longer for more confident high speed tracking and integrates Honda's Unit Pro-Link suspension system for lightening fast cornering control.  Combine this with a new, smaller and lighter second generation HESD steering damper and you're sure of the most responsive ride.

The 2009 'Blade also features a newly developed "assist" slipper clutch.  Not only are aggresive downshifts smoother and more controlled but power hooks up more quickly and firmly for fluid transitions from rapid deceleration to rocket like thrusts out of corners.  It all adds up to a more natural, instinctive feel that assures smoother operation, faster lap times and unflustered, confidence-inspiring character in any situation.

MODEL HISTORY

The 1992 CBR900RR Fireblade completely rewrote the book of Super Sport motorcycle design. It was a remarkably compact and lightweight configuration arguably the catalyst that sparked the expansion of the current litre-class Supersport category into what it is today.
